Spurs guard Dejounte Murray has been fined $20,000 for throwing the game ball off the legs of a referee, NBA president of league operations Byron Spruell announced.
The incident occurred during with 2:24 left in the fourth quarter of the Spurs’ 118-105 road loss to the Grizzlies on Monday. Murray was assessed a technical foul and ejected.

Murray, 25, is 6-foot-4 and coming off an All-Star Game appearance. He is averaging 20.1 points, 9.4 assists and 8.3 rebounds in 54 games (through Tuesday).
On the bright side for the Spurs, Murray won’t miss any time with a suspension as his actions seemed far from over-the-top.
