The Spurs are struggling to find a taker for veteran forward Thaddeus Young ahead of Thursday’s trade deadline, per Marc Stein of The Stein Line.
Young, 33, is 6-foot-8 and is averaging 6.1 points and 3.6 rebounds in 26 games. He was acquired by the Spurs in the sign-and-trade deal that sent shooting guard DeMar DeRozan to the Bulls. That happened over the summer.
Stein wrote that Young’s expiring contract is something that may be appealing to contenders.
RealGM wrote: “Young’s expiring $14.2 million deal is seen as an acquirable contract for contenders that are looking for frontcourt help. Several teams had previously been linked to Young, but now it seems things have gone quiet four days before the trade deadline.”
