The Spurs have officially signed free agent center/forward Jock Landale, per the NBA transactions log and Eli Cohen of Hoops Rumors.
Landale, 25, is 6-foot-11 and went undrafted out of St. Mary’s in 2018. He has since played in Serbia and Lithuania, before spending last season with Melbourne United of Australia’s National Basketball League.
He was named Grand Final MVP in Australia after 16.4 points, 7.8 rebounds and 1.5 blocked shots.
Landale agreed to a two-year contract with the Spurs, agent Sammy Wloszczowski told Shams Charania of The Athletic.
“The Spurs are light in established frontcourt players, leaving the possibility of Landale to carve out a role for himself, especially if newly-signed Zach Collins is unable to stay healthy,” Cohen wrote. “With the team officially losing Rudy Gay and DeMar DeRozan, the youth movement appears to be in full swing in San Antonio.”
