The Spurs are bringing back forward Riley Minix on a two-way contract, per Shams Charania of ESPN.
Minix, 24, was a restricted free agent after San Antonio extended a qualifying offer in June. No corresponding move was needed, as the Spurs still had two open two-way spots.
Minix appeared in just one NBA game last season before undergoing season-ending surgery in January to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder. The injury occurred during a G League game against Iowa on New Year’s Day.
Healthy again, Minix suited up for the Spurs’ Summer League squad last month and held his own. He averaged 10.6 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.4 assists on 48.6 percent shooting across five games.
Originally undrafted, Minix signed an Exhibit 10 deal with the Spurs in July 2024 and earned a two-way spot before the start of last season.
The 6-foot-7 forward played his college ball at Morehead State and was solid in the G League, posting 19.3 points, 6.6 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.2 blocks per game with a strong shooting line of .524/.414/.853 in 19 games for the Austin Spurs.
