The Spurs have released forward/center Aric Holman and shooting guard Nate Renfro, the team announced, as relayed by Paul Garcia of Project Spurs.
Holman, 24, is 6-foot-10 and went undrafted out of Mississippi State. He has spent time in the G League as well as Germany, as well as with the Celtics in the most recent summer league.
Renfro, 24, is 6-7 and played collegiately at San Francisco. He spent last season with the Austin Spurs and then played for San Antonio in summer league.
Both Holman and Renfro are likely headed to Austin, with small guarantees should they meet certain criteria centered on the amount of games played with the G League franchise.
The Spurs’ camp roster stands at 18 after the moves.
“They’ll have to trade or waive at least two of those players before the start of the regular season, and may continue shuffling players through their last two roster spots for G League purposes,” noted Luke Adams of Hoops Rumors.
