The Spurs have waived center Charles Bediako from his two-way contract, the team announced in a press release.
Agent agent Daniel Green told Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report/TNT that Bediako suffered a torn left meniscus and will miss six-to-eight weeks.
Bediako, 21, is 7-foot-0 and went undrafted after two seasons at Alabama in the 2023 NBA Draft. He signed a training camp contract with the Spurs in September, then agreed to a two-way deal a month later.
Bediako has yet to appear in an NBA game, though he’s averaging 7.7 points and 6.9 rebounds with the Austin Spurs of the G League.
San Antonio is likely to find a replacement as they continue their season-long experiment in trying to find the right pieces around No. 1 overall pick Victor Wembanyama.
