It is still to be determined whether Nets guard/forward Joe Harris will need a second surgery on his injured left ankle, sources close to Harris told Brian Lewis of the New York Post.
The sources did, however, did express “positive improvement on that front,” Lewis reported.
Harris’ agent, Mark Bartelstein, told Lewis earlier in the month that another surgery wasn’t out of the question and Nets coach Steve Nash indicated Wednesday that does indeed remain a possibility.
“I think everything’s on the table at this point,” Nash told reporters. “We hope that he comes back, but we have no idea where this is going to go at this point.”
A decision on whether Harris needs more surgery is expected to be made within the next week, perhaps shortly after the All-Star break.
Harris, 30, has appeared in just 13 games this season, having missed six before the initial surgery. At the time, the Nets said they expected him to miss four-to-eight weeks.
He is averaging 11.9 points and 4.1 rebounds, shooting a sizzling 46 percent on 3-pointers in the games he has played this season.
A second surgery “would fix the ankle once and for good. But we’re not sure if we need that or not,” Bartelstein told Lewis.
