Suns All-Star shooting guard Devin Booker is expected to miss the next two games of the first-round playoff series vs. the Pelicans with a mild hamstring strain, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Booker exited in the third quarter of Game 2, a 125-114 Pelicans upset win. He had 31 points at the time.
At first, the injury was diagnosed as hamstring tightness. Clearly it’s a bit more severe than that.
That said, Wojnarowski wrote that the “Suns were still evaluating results of an MRI on Wednesday to get a full picture of the injury and a clearer timeline for a return, sources said.”
With the series tied 1-all, the next two games will be held in New Orleans. The Pelicans entered the playoffs with the worst record, the defending Western Conference champion Suns with the best in the NBA.
