The Suns may have another injury problem on their hands, and this one involves Devin Booker.

In the same game where Jalen Green exited early with hamstring tightness, Booker appeared to suffer a right ankle injury late in Friday’s loss at Atlanta. The play was a fluke one.

Booker got tangled up in the chaos of a loose ball, stepped on Onyeka Okongwu’s foot, and rolled his ankle in the closing seconds of the third quarter.

He went down immediately, grabbed at the ankle, and needed help getting up before limping straight to the locker room. He did not return.

Before the injury, Booker was rolling. Thirty-one points on efficient shooting, four rebounds, three assists, and control of the game. The Suns were up seven entering the fourth. Without him, the offense stalled. Phoenix managed just 12 points in the final quarter and ended up dropping a 110-103 decision.

Booker’s status now looms large. If he misses time, the Suns will need to lean more on Grayson Allen, Collin Gillespie, and Jordan Goodwin in the backcourt rotation.

It is too early for timelines, but Phoenix has already been juggling health issues. Losing Booker for any stretch would be a significant hit, especially with the team trying to stabilize its rhythm and stay competitive in the West.
