The Suns have officially signed small forward Ishmail Wainright to a two-way contract, the team announced in a press release.
Wainright, 26, is 6-foot-6 and was released by Raptors last week after spending training camp and preseason with the team.
He played for Baylor from 2013-17 and spent the past three seasons overseas, most recently with French club Strasbourg. He spent two years in Germany before that.
Blake Murphy of The Athletic wrote that Winright is “a positionally versatile defender and maybe the best person I’ve ever met around the sport.”
Wainright signed a two-year, partially guaranteed contract with the Raptors in August before being waived, despite a strong showing.
