According to NBA insider Marc Stein, there is a growing belief leaguewide that the Phoenix Suns could trade Kevin Durant.
Durant has been linked to the Golden State Warriors, Houston Rockets and Dallas Mavericks.
Amid a growing belief leaguewide that Kevin Durant actually could be traded this week, sources say nothing has changed in Houston regarding its posture on a major in-season change.

The Warriors are aggressively pursuing a trade for Durant, sources told Hoops Wire. Durant played for Golden State from 2016-17 to 2018-19, helping the franchise win back-to-back titles in 2017 and 2018.
One of the greatest players in NBA history, Durant is averaging 26.9 points, 6.1 rebounds and 4.2 assists this season while shooting 52.4% from the field, 39.8% from beyond the arc and 82.7% from the free-throw line. The future Hall of Famer is making $51.2 million.
According to NBA insider Jake Fischer, Durant knows the Suns are listening to trade offers for him.
“Durant, meanwhile, is said to be aware of all this,” Fischer wrote. “The Suns, mind you, are expected to maintain a very high asking price before they ever agreed to part ways with him. We’re talking serious draft capital and highly rated young talent. The Suns do have a level of interest in Jonathan Kuminga, sources said.”
Durant has played for the Oklahoma City Thunder, Warriors, Brooklyn Nets and Suns. He has career averages of 27.2 points, 7.0 rebounds and 4.4 assists.
There could be a three-team trade between the Warriors, Suns and Miami Heat. Durant could land in Golden State, Andrew Wiggins could go to Miami and Jimmy Butler could get traded to Phoenix.
The Suns were supposed to be title contenders last season and this season with Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal leading the way. However, the Beal trade hasn’t worked out for Phoenix. The franchise lost in the first round of the 2024 playoffs to the Minnesota Timberwolves in four games and is only 25-24 this season.
The Los Angeles Lakers traded Anthony Davis to the Dallas Mavericks for Luka Doncic in the most shocking trade in NBA history. Will a Durant trade be next? Only time will tell.
