The Suns needed every second and then some, but they escaped Orlando with a 113-110 double-overtime win over the Magic thanks to a last-gasp three from Jalen Green.
It was the definition of redemption. Green struggled all night, missing shot after shot and looking out of rhythm for long stretches. None of it mattered when he rose from the right corner as the horn sounded and buried the winner, moments after Orlando had tied it on a late three.
The Suns leaned heavily on Grayson Allen, who returned from an ankle injury and poured in 27 points. Allen carried them in the first overtime, scoring all seven of Phoenix’s points while the offense stalled elsewhere.
Phoenix did all of this without Devin Booker, sidelined by a hip strain, and briefly without Dillon Brooks, who exited early with what the team later described as a broken left hand.
For Orlando, it was a tough one to swallow. Desmond Bane was brilliant before fouling out early in overtime, and Paolo Banchero posted a strong double-double. But after rallying late in regulation, the Magic couldn’t finish it off.
For Phoenix, this was messy, short-handed, and stressful. It was also a win they’ll happily take.
