Former Trail Blazers coach Terry Stotts is joining the Bucks as an assistant under new coach Adrian Griffin, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Stotts, 65, did not coach anywhere this past season, though he was considered a candidate for the vacancies with the Bucks and Rockets. He was also a candidate for several openings last summer, including the Jazz.
Stotts coached the Blazers for nine seasons, leading them to the playoffs in each of his final eight. Overall, he is an impressive 1,003-507 in 13 seasons with the Blazers, Bucks and Hawks.
The Bucks replaced Mike Budenholzer with Griffin late last month. Budenholzer led the Bucks to the 2021 NBA championship and the best regular-season record this year. So needless to say, expectations are again high.
