Muscala, 31, just completed his third season with the Thunder, appearing in 43 games and averaging 8.0 points and 3.0 rebounds. As Wolfson noted, Muscala should help serve as a mentor to No. 2 overall pick and fellow big man Chet Holmgren.
Originally drafted by the Hawks with the No. 44 overall pick out in 2013, Muscala has also spent time with the 76ers and Lakers. He remains the only player currently in the NBA who played college ball at Bucknell.
Per the Thunder press release: “In nine NBA seasons with Oklahoma City, Atlanta, Philadelphia and the Los Angeles Lakers, the Bucknell product has appeared in 432 career games (30 starts) and posted averages of 6.2 points and 3.2 rebounds in 15.5 minutes per game.”
