The Thunder have signed small forward Jaylen Hoard to a 10-day contract via the hardship exception, according to JD Shaw of Hoops Rumors. The move was made official on the NBA’s transactions log.
Hoard, 22, is 6-foot-8 and has been playing for the Oklahoma City Blue of the G League, the Thunder’s affiliate. In 14 games with the Blue, he is averaging 8.5 points and 4.8 rebounds.
He appeared in 19 games with the Thunder last season, compiling an average of 6.1 points on 50 percent shooting. He played 13 games for the Trail Blazers as a rookie in 2019-20.
Hoard is the fourth hardship signing of the season for OKC, which currently has six players in health and safety protocols. He was waived by the Thunder during training camp.
