The Thunder are bringing back center Olivier Sarr on a two-way contract, the team announced in a press release.
The move came shortly after the announcement that they had waived center/forward Usman Garuba, as we relayed here. Until then, they would have exceeded the offseason roster limit of 20.
Sarr, 24, signed a two-way deal with the Thunder in February, but that deal expired at the end of the season. He appeared in nine games with Oklahoma City, averaging 4.0 points and 3.4 rebounds.
Along with that, he averaged 12.8 points and 8.8 boards in 12 games with the Oklahoma City Blue, the Thunder’s G League affiliate.
Sarr first signed with OKC in September 2021 but was waived before the season. He later returned on a pair of 10-day contracts. He also was a member of the Trail Blazers from September 2022 to November 2022, though never appeared in a game with Portland.
