The Thunder have waived guard/forward Sterling Brown, acquired as part of a trade with the Rockets, the team announced in a press release.
Along with Brown, the Thunder received guard/forward David Nwaba, forward Marquese Chriss and point guard Trey Burke. They sent forwards Derrick Favors and Moe Harkless, shooting guard Ty Jerome and point guard Theo Malden and a 2025 second round pick (via the Hawks) to the Rockets.
Brown, 27, is 6-foot-5 and appeared in 49 games with the Mavericks last season, averaging 3.3 points and 3.0 rebounds, shooting 38 percent from the field.
The younger brother of former NBA guard Shannon Brown, Sterling Brown has also spent time with the Bucks and Rockets.
