Thunder’s Jalen Williams sidelined again with hamstring issue

The comeback was loud. The follow-up, not so much. Thunder star Jalen Williams aggravated his right hamstring in just his second game back from injury and will be reevaluated after the All-Star break, per ESPN’s Tim MacMahon.

Williams had already missed 10 games with the same issue, which makes this less about box scores and more about timing. And the timing, frankly, stings.

He looked great Monday against the Lakers, scoring 23 points in 24 minutes. He looked even better Wednesday, torching the Suns for 28 points, five assists, and four rebounds in just 20 minutes as Oklahoma City cruised.

That’s the version of Williams the Thunder need. Explosive, efficient, and playing with the kind of rhythm that makes the offense hum.

But availability keeps getting in the way.

The 2025 All-Star and All-NBA Third Team selection has appeared in only 26 games this season, averaging 17.5 points, 5.4 assists, 4.7 rebounds, and 1.3 steals in 29 minutes. Strong numbers. Limited sample.

With the break here, the Thunder can afford patience. What they cannot afford is turning a short-term setback into something that lingers.
