Thunder point guard Josh Giddey will remain available to play as the NBA conducts an investigation into allegations that he had an inappropriate relationship with a minor.
The league announced it is investigating the matter on Friday after allegations about Giddey’s personal life began to circulate on social media.
Neither Giddey nor Thunder coach Mark Daigneault would comment about the alleged relationship after practice on Friday.
“I understand the question obviously, but there’s no further comment right now,” Giddey told reporters.
Added Daigneault: “Personal matter, and I have no comment on it. And that’ll be my comment on anything related.”
Per our Brandon Santomauro:
“After being selected No. 6 overall by the Thunder in the 2021 NBA Draft, Giddey has started in each of his 145 career games, and this season is averaging 12.3 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 4.5 assists for the 11-4 Thunder team (entering Saturday’s game vs. the 76ers).”
