The Timberwolves are signing point guard Emmanuel Mudiay to an Exhibit 10 contract, per Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic.
Mudiay, 25, is 6-foot-3 and was drafted by the Nuggets with the No. 7 overall pick in 2015. He has been a solid pro, but fairly inconsistent since, carrying career averages of 11.0 points, 3.8 assists and 2.9 rebounds.
He signed a 10-day hardship exception with the Kings in December.
Current Timberwolves head of basketball operations Tim Connelly was running the Nuggets’ front office when the team drafted Mudiay.
Per Krawczynki, Mudiay will be waived and join the Iowa Wolves, Minnesota’s affiliate in the G League.
