The Timberwolves have waived guards PJ Dozier, forward CJ Elleby and guard A.J. Lawson, and the team announced in a press release.
The moves set Minnesota’s roster at the league limit of 15 ahead of opening week.
Dozier, 25, is 6-foot-6 and appeared in 18 games with the Nuggets last season before suffering a torn ACL. He was then traded to the Celtics in January, before being dealt to the Magic in February. The Magic waived him on the same day.
Known as being a strong wing defender, his best season offensively came in 2020-21 with the Nuggets, when he averaged 7.7 points on 42 percent shooting.
Elleby, 22, is 6-6 and was selected by the Trail Blazers with the No. 46 overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft. He spent the past two years with the Blazers, averaging 5.8 points and 3.9 rebounds in 58 games last season.
Lawson, 21, is 6-6 and went undrafted out of South Carolina in 2021. He was signed and waived by the Hawks in training camp last year, then latched on with the Mavericks in summer league this past July. He appeared in three preseason games with Minnesota.
