Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report proposed the following trade idea between the Heat and Jazz:

The trade: The Utah Jazz trade Collin Sexton to the Miami Heat for Duncan Robinson, the No. 15 pick and a 2026 second-round pick (via LAL)

Sexton averaged 18.7 points, 2.6 rebounds and 4.9 assists in 2023-24 while shooting 48.7% from the field, 39.4% from beyond the arc and 85.9% from the free-throw line. He’ll make $18.4 million next season.

“Still, Sexton could steal a few eyeballs in South Beach, where the Heat could use more perimeter punch and downhill force,” Buckley wrote. “His perpetually full-throttle motor would be an easy #culture fit, and he could provide the second team with the scoring boost it lost upon Tyler Herro‘s promotion to the opening lineup.”

According to NBA insider Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, the Jazz could trade Sexton and Jordan Clarkson this offseason. Utah went 31-51 in 2023-24, missing the playoffs for the second consecutive campaign.

“There’s also a belief from rival executives who spoke with HoopsHype that guards Collin Sexton and Jordan Clarkson could become available on the trade market,” Scotto wrote.

Sexton has career averages of 18.9 points, 2.8 rebounds and 3.6 assists with the Cleveland Cavaliers and Jazz.

The Heat lost to the Boston Celtics in the first round of the 2024 playoffs in five games. All-Star Jimmy Butler missed the entire series with a knee injury.

Butler is extension-eligible this offseason, and according to NBA reporter Anthony Chiang of The Miami Herald, Butler is expected to seek a two-year extension worth around $113 million.

Butler will make $48.8 million next season. He has a player option worth $52.4 million for the 2025-26 season.

A six-time All-Star, Butler averaged 20.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 1.3 steals and 0.3 blocks in 2023-24 while shooting 49.9% from the field, 41.4% from beyond the arc and 85.8% from the free-throw line.
