The Trail Blazers do not intend to pursue Suns center Deandre Ayton, instead turning their attention to re-signing Jusuf Nurkic and perhaps pulling off a trade, per Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report.
For starters, the Blazers are targeting Raptors forward OG Anunoby, using their No. 7 overall pick as the headline the offer, Fischer reported.
But that’s not all.
Fischer added that league scuttlebutt indicates the Blazers are dangling their No. 7 pick to the Thunder, in exchange for a package that includes the No. 12 pick and Luguentz Dort.
As for Ayton, both Fischer and Bleacher Report’s Eric Pincus have indicated the Pacers could be a potential landing spot, in perhaps a sign-and-trade involving Myles Turner. Both players are represented by agent Bill Duffy, as noted by Hoops Rumors, a truth that could indeed could play into a possible deal.
Other than the Suns, the Hawks, Raptors and Pistons appear to be the most likely remaining destinations for Ayton, Fischer wrote.
