While shooting guard Tyler Herro is progressing from his broken wrist, he is not expected to be able to play if the Heat advance to the Finals, sources told Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald.
Considering the Heat lead the Celtics by a 3-0 count in the Eastern Conference finals, they stand a good chance to move on. (Teams with 3-0 leads are 150-0 all-time in the NBA playoffs.)
And they managed to survive just fine so far minus Herro. That’s a surprise, as is the fact the Heat have managed to come this far as a No. 8 seed.
Obviously, they’d love to have Herro, but they’re rolling right along behind Jimmy Butler and a surrounding cast that has really stepped up.
No matter who wins the Miami-Boston series, Game 1 of the Finals is set for Thursday, June 1, against the Nuggets in Denver.
