Free agent shooting guard Tyreke Evans is seeking reinstatement to the NBA after a two-year absence, according to JD Shaw of Hoops Rumors.
Evans, 32, was banned in May 2019 for violating the league’s anti-drug program. He was eligible for reinstatement toward the end of last season.
Per Shaw, Evans has been working out in hopes of return.
He last played in the 2018-19 season with the Pacers, averaging 10.9 points and 2.9 rebounds in 69 games.
Free agent Tyreke Evans is hoping to be reinstated by the NBA soon, sources tell @HoopsRumors. Evans has been training in preparation for a return. He was dismissed in 2019 for violating the anti-drug program.

He has also spent time with the Grizzlies, Kings and Pelicans, after Sacramento selected him with the No. 4 overall draft pick in 2009. He was named Rookie of the Year in 2010.
While Evans is hoping for a return to the NBA, he may be best served to first try a stint in the G League to get in some game action.
