Warriors Active in Trade Market, Seeking More Size

The Warriors have been active in the trade market and are on the lookout for some added size and some extra shooting, per Monte Poole of NBC Sports Bay Area. Steve Kerr Steph Curry

This is sort of a rarity for the defending champs, who don’t make in-season deals often. But even coach Steve Kerr admitted that the likes of center Kevon Looney and forward Draymond Green could use a break.

“I’m really proud of them, of that whole group, but of (Looney) and Draymond in particular, given the circumstances,” Kerr said, via Poole. “What they’ve done for us the last couple weeks, keeping us afloat, has been really impressive.

“But, yes, it would be nice to give them a little rest.”

While it’s hard to say which bigs the Warriors may be targeting, there are certainly some to become available between now and the Feb. 9 trade deadline. They may also explore the list of available veteran free agents.

For the Warriors, James Wiseman hasn’t come along as hoped, and Jonathan Kuminga and JaMychal Green have recently been sidelined. But after home losses to the Magic and widely depleted Suns, the Warriors likely have to do something.

Apparently, something is what they are setting out to do.

  1. I would trade Jarret Allen for Kuminga, Wiseman, and Moody. And then trade Wiseman for Mo Bamba. IMO, one of your 2 big men have to be able to hit 3s. Starters would be Mobley,Kuminga,Bamba,Garland, and Mitchell.
