No NBA team is being more aggressive in the Giannis Antetokounmpo chase than the Warriors.
League sources tell Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints that the Warriors have made the Bucks superstar their lone focus ahead of Thursday’s deadline, with owner Joe Lacob and general manager Mike Dunleavy Jr. aligned on a simple stance: Everyone is available except Stephen Curry.
If a deal does not materialize in the coming days, the Warriors are prepared to stand down, preserve their best assets, and revisit this summer.
Notably, Milwaukee has not shut the door.
Sources indicate the Bucks have not rejected Golden State’s most recent offer, and Jon Horst and the front office are described as intrigued by the volume of future assets the Warriors can put on the table.
Still, Milwaukee is expected to take its time, with any real movement likely coming in the final 24 hours before the deadline.
If Antetokounmpo remains with the Bucks through the season, it becomes less likely Jonathan Kuminga is moved this week.
Golden State holds a sizable option on Kuminga for 2026-27, and keeping him in reserve for the offseason remains appealing.
While the Warriors have also checked in on Michael Porter Jr. and Trey Murphy III, neither pursuit is considered imminent.
One wrinkle gaining traction involves Draymond Green. Sources told Siegel not to rule out Green’s inclusion in a Giannis deal, particularly if it unlocks additional assets via a third team.
One rival executive suggested Green could later return to Golden State in free agency after opting out, while helping another contender in the short term.
