Green was acquired by the Thunder in a trade with the Nuggets, and he should help replace the loss of Otto Porter Jr. with the Warriors, wrote Joe Viray of SB Nation. (Porter left for the Raptors.)
Green, 31, averaged 6.4 points and 4.2 rebounds in 67 appearances last season, his second in Denver. He has also spent time with the Clippers, Grizzlies and Spurs since entering the NBA in 2014.
He agreed to a deal with the Warriors upon clearing waivers. While terms have not been released, it is believed Green received a contract for the veteran’s minimum.
“Assuming Green’s new contract is fully guaranteed, as expected, he’ll be the 13th Warrior with a guaranteed salary,” noted Luke Adams of Hoops Rumors. “That leaves at least one spot available on the club’s projected regular season, though Andre Iguodala would presumably be the frontrunner to be the 14th man if he decides to continue his career.”
