The Warriors have won six straight, and Draymond Green doesn’t sound interested in putting that progress on hold for Kristaps Porzingis.
If Porzingis can eventually help, fine. The players currently in uniform have work to do.

“Since I’ve been here on this team, it’s never been about bickering, never about ‘Shame on this guy,’ ‘Shame on that guy,’” Green told Sam Amick of The Athletic. “We’ve never had that culture here. So the same goes for (Porzingis). No one’s sitting around bashing this guy or even worried about him, for that matter. In our minds, we’ve moved forward with the players that we have here.”
Green has taken on much of the responsibility inside, starting at center for the sixth time in nine games during Thursday’s 120-100 win over the Heat.
At 6-foot-6, he’s giving away plenty of size. But the Warriors are finding ways to make it work, and their winning streak offers a pretty good reason to keep the focus on who’s available.
“(Does) everyone in here think he can help us? Of course. We know what type of player he is,” Green said. “But I don’t think anyone in here is sitting around waiting on him to walk through that door. Everybody’s moved on in their mindset.”
That doesn’t settle Porzingis’ future with the organization. It does make the locker room’s approach fairly clear.
The Warriors can recognize his talent without building their season around the possibility of his return. Green’s message is that they’re already doing exactly that.
