Veteran Warriors wing Jimmy Butler isn’t putting a date on it. But the intent is clear.
Butler rejoined the team for the first time since undergoing ACL surgery in February and said he expects to return at some point next season, per Nick Friedell of The Athletic.
“I do want to come back,” Butler said. “I can’t say when. Obviously, as early as I can to help my guys win some games. But you’ll probably hear me say from time to time … whenever my body’s ready, I promise I’m trying to get back out there.”
That’s where things stand. No timetable. No rush. Just progress.
Golden State has managed to stay afloat without him, leaning on a reshuffled rotation. But Butler remains a major piece of what this team hopes to be moving forward.
But all he can do now is rehab and try to stay patient. The return will come when it comes.
