Kristaps Porzingis is finally back on the court for the Golden State Warriors.
Porzingis appeared in his second game with Golden State on Saturday, finishing with nine points, five rebounds and five assists in a 104-97 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
It marked another step forward after a six-game absence tied to ongoing health issues.
“I felt like my body is coming back to what it needs to be,” Porzingis said, via ESPN’s Anthony Slater. “One workout before the game and I felt pretty decent.”
Porzingis logged 23 minutes against Oklahoma City and said he believes he is finally turning a corner after a frustrating stretch.
“I believe I will be healthy now,” he said. “Not to sell anything because I’ve been in and out. But this time I really feel this is it.”
The Warriors acquired Porzingis in a Feb. 4 trade with the Atlanta Hawks, but his time in Golden State has already been interrupted by illness.
Doctors previously diagnosed Porzingis with Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome, a condition that can cause dizziness, fatigue and rapid heart rate.
Golden State coach Steve Kerr recently walked back earlier comments questioning the diagnosis.
At any rate, the Warriors plan to ease Porzingis back into action as the regular season winds down.
“Only about 20 games left,” Porzingis said. “I want to catch a really good rhythm and see if we can do something in the postseason.”
