Warriors guard Moses Moody went down with a non-contact left knee injury late in overtime of Golden State’s 137-131 win in Dallas, needing a stretcher to leave the floor.
It happened on what should have been the finishing touch. Moody stripped Mavericks rookie Cooper Flagg and went up for a clear dunk, but his knee buckled on the plant and he collapsed under the basket.
Play continued briefly before the whistle. Then everything stopped.
Teammates and staff rushed over as Moody remained down. Trainers called for a stretcher. The arena went quiet.
He had just returned from a wrist sprain that cost him 10 games and was having one of his better nights, finishing with 23 points and three steals.
“We don’t know what it is, but it sure looked bad,” coach Steve Kerr said, via Anthony Slater of ESPN.
For a team already without Jimmy Butler and still waiting on Stephen Curry, it was a tough scene.
