Warriors not sold on Kings’ assets in Jonathan Kuminga talks

The Warriors remain unconvinced that the Kings can offer a workable return in any potential deal involving Jonathan Kuminga.

According to Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints, Golden State is not enamored with the assets Sacramento would be willing to put on the table for the fifth-year forward.

As things currently stand, Siegel wrote, a Kuminga-to-Kings deal would likely require the involvement of a third team to gain any traction.

One sticking point is guard Malik Monk, who has been made available but has generated limited interest around the league. Siegel reported that Monk’s contract — which includes nearly $42 million owed over the two seasons following this one — has dampened his appeal in trade discussions.

From Golden State’s perspective, that contract complicates any clean framework with Sacramento, especially if the Warriors are seeking flexibility and value in return for a young, controllable piece like Kuminga.

Unless the Kings can expand the deal or reshape their offer, the Warriors appear content to look elsewhere.
