Warriors’ Stephen Curry Disagrees With Steve Kerr Saying He Looks ‘Fatigued’

After the Golden State Warriors lost to the Denver Nuggets last night (2/25) at home, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr told NBA reporters that Stephen Curry looked “fatigued.”

During his media session, Curry disagreed with Kerr.

Curry didn’t shoot the ball well against the Nuggets. He shot 6-of-19 from the field and 1-of-10 from beyond the arc in 32 minutes.

The Warriors lost to the Nuggets by 16 points to drop to 29-27 on the season.

“That’s why they’re called averages,” Curry said, via The Athletic. “You got the highs and lows of it, and nobody … again, the standard that you set, when you don’t meet it, there’s questions about ‘Are your legs tired?’ Nah. You just missed shots. Keep shooting. It’s part of the nature of being available and playing every game. Never lose confidence.”

The greatest shooter in NBA history, Curry is averaging 27.7 points, 4.2 rebounds and 5.1 assists on the season while shooting 45.9% from the field, 41.4% from beyond the arc and 92.1% from the free-throw line.

Curry is fifth in the NBA in points, sixth in points per game and first in 3-point field goals. He’s well on his way to making his 10th All-NBA team.

The Warriors are in 10th place in the Western Conference standings. If the season ended today, Curry and Co. would face LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers in the 9-10 play-in game.

The Lakers beat the Warriors in the second round of the 2023 playoffs in six games. LA also defeated Golden State in the 2021 play-in tournament.

The Warriors’ next game is tomorrow (2/27) against the lowly Washington Wizards. That’s a contest Golden State should easily win since the Wizards are one of the worst teams in the NBA. They are only 9-48.

The Warriors are sixth in the NBA in points per game and 21st in points per game allowed.
