Wizards guard Delon Wright is expected to miss six-to-eight weeks after suffering a hamstring injury, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Wright, 30, suffered a Grade 2 hamstring train during the fourth quarter of Wednesday’s win over the Pistons, the team announced in a press release. The Wizards did not provide a timetable for his return.
He is averaging 6.5 points, 3.2 assists and 2.5 rebounds as the Wizards are off to a 3-1 start, their lone loss coming to the Cavaliers.
Wright is 6-foot-5 and was originally drafted by the Raptors with the No. 20 overall pick in 2015. Along with the Raptors, he has also spent time with the Grizzlies, Mavericks, Pistons, Kings and Hawks.
He signed a two-year deal worth $16 million, per Wojnarowski, in free agency in July.
