The Wizards have started to explore trades for Pacers power forward Domantas Sabonis and Pistons forward Jerami Grant, according to Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report.
Washington has been among the most active teams ahead of the Feb. 10 deadline to make a deal, Fischer noted. Sabonis and Grant are among the notable players said to be available.
Wizards guard Spencer Dinwiddie is among the players the Wizards are looking to move, as we relayed at Hoops Wire right here.
Things were going well with the Wizards early, as they jettisoned to a 10-3 start under new coach Wes Unseld Jr. But they have gone just 13-24 since (for 24-27 overall) and are outside of the playoff and play-in tournament pictures.
“That’s an ominous skid only months before Bradley Beal can test free agency this offseason,” Fischer wrote.
Multiple sources have told Hoops Wire the Wizards aren’t looking to move Beal or forward Kyle Kuzma, though are open to moving just about everyone else.
“With an overstuff frontcourt, the Wizards have been offering players like Montrezl Harrell and the recently returned Thomas Bryant in trades,” RealGM wrote. “They also have recent draftees available as well.”
Along with Sabonis, the Pacers are said to have made center Myles Turner and guard Caris LeVert available. You can read more about Turner right here and LeVert, who is being targeted by the Cavaliers, right here.
“Word has since trickled around the league that Beal would welcome playing with Sabonis, although one source with knowledge of the situation maintained Beal has not actively encouraged the Wizards to acquire him,” Fischer wrote.
Meanwhile, the Pistons reportedly have yet to decide on whether to move Grant, but they are clearly fielding offers. Grant is said to have a list of preferred destinations in the event of a deal. Check out the latest on Grant right here.
