The Wizards are among the teams in pursuit of Suns forward Jae Crowder, and made an offer that was believed to be centered on forward Rui Hachimura, per Marc Stein of The Stein Line.
Whatever the offer was, the Suns turned it away. Phoenix is looking for a “certifiable starter” in exchange for Crowder, Stein wrote. Crowder requested a trade and has yet to play this season.
Hachimura, 24, is in his fourth NBA season, all with the Wizards. He has missed all but 16 games with bone bruise in his left ankle. If he was indeed made available, apparently the Suns don’t think he’s starter-worthy.
Crowder, 32, appeared in 67 games last season (all starts), averaging 9.4 points on 40 percent shooting, to go with 5.3 rebounds and some strong perimeter defense. But at this point, the Suns may be overvaluing him, as they continue to rebuff offers.
Along with the Wizards, Crowder reportedly has drawn interest from the Bucks, Heat and several others.
