The Wizards have signed center John Butler to a two-way contract, per the NBA transactions log.
Butler, 20, is 6-foot-10 and appeared in 19 games with the Trail Blazers while o a two-way deal last season, averaging 2.4 points.
He initially signed a two-way contract with the Pelicans after going undrafted out of Florida State in 2020, but was waived shortly thereafter.
He now becomes the second Butler on a to-way deal with the Wizards, joining guard Jared Butler. The two Butlers and Eugene Omoruyi hold the Wizards’ three two-way slots.
Washington has 17 players with standard contracts and will have to make two more cuts by 5 p.m. EST on Monday.
