Wizards coach Brian Keefe said second-year big man Alex Sarr has not yet returned to on-court work as he continues to recover from an adductor injury. Sarr has missed the past six games.
According to Varun Shankar of The Washington Post, Keefe said the injury was initially viewed as minor, but noted that soft-tissue issues can be difficult to predict. The Wizards have taken a cautious approach, though Sarr is moving closer to a return.
Even amid a 4-20 start, Sarr has been one of the Wizards’ few consistent positives. The French big man leads the team in scoring at 19.1 points per game, rebounds at 8.6, and blocks at 2.0. He has also contributed as a passer and defender, offering steady production on both ends.
For a rebuilding team with little incentive to rush, patience remains the sensible approach. Washington appears focused on Sarr’s long-term health as he continues to establish himself as a cornerstone piece.
