The Wizards are expected to sign veteran point guard Brad Wanamaker, according to Emiliano Carchia of Sportando.
Wanamaker, 32, is 6-3 and appeared in 22 games with the Pacers this season, averaging 3.5 points and 2.2 assists. He was waived by Indiana on Monday.
While Carchia didn’t specify, it seems only fitting that Wanamaker will receive a 10-day contract via the hardship exception — as they currently have eight players in health and safety protocols.
Wanamaker will first need to complete waivers before he can sign with Washington. Since he was waived Monday, he will become a free agent on Wednesday, presuming he goes unsigned.
Wanamaker has also spent time with the Celtics, Hornets and Warriors.
