Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert could miss the play-in game vs. the Thunder on Friday with back spasms, coach Chris Finch said, via Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic.
Gobert, of course, missed the play-in loss to the Lakers after being suspended by the team for one game for a sideline altercation with forward Kyle Anderson. Clearly, the reason he could be out Friday has nothing to do with that.
But Gobert told reporters that if he had not been suspended for the game against the Lakers, his back would have kept him from playing anyway, via Krawczynski.
The Timberwolves need to win to earn the No. 8 seed in the Western Conference playoffs and face the top-seeded Nuggets in the first. A loss ends the season for the Wolves or Thunder.
