Hall of Famer Grant Hill is the latest former NBA star to join NBC’s growing broadcast team, as the network prepares to relaunch its coverage of the league for the 2025-26 season.
Hill will serve as a game analyst across NBC and Peacock platforms, the network announced Monday. The former seven-time All-Star joins a roster that already includes Reggie Miller and Jamal Crawford in the booth, as NBC reenters the NBA picture for the first time in two decades.
“I’m incredibly excited to join NBC Sports as part of their NBA coverage,” Hill said in a statement. “To be part of NBC’s return to the NBA — a network with such a rich basketball legacy — and its debut on Peacock is truly an honor.”
A 19-year NBA veteran, Hill played for the Pistons, Magic, Suns and Clippers from 1994 to 2013 before transitioning into broadcasting. He’s since developed a respected second act behind the mic, primarily as a college basketball analyst for TNT Sports — a role he will continue to hold, per The Athletic’s Sarah Jean Maher and Richard Deitsch.
Hill wears several hats these days. He serves as managing director of USA Basketball’s men’s national team and holds ownership stakes in various pro franchises, including the Atlanta Hawks.
NBC’s full NBA broadcast lineup is already packed with familiar names. Mike Tirico and Noah Eagle will lead play-by-play duties, while Maria Taylor will host studio coverage alongside Carmelo Anthony and Vince Carter. And yes, Michael Jordan is also on board, with the all-time great has signed on as a special contributor.
The NBA’s return to NBC marks a significant broadcast shakeup, and Hill’s addition adds both credibility and experience to the network’s revamped lineup.
The league’s national TV package will officially shift starting with the 2025-26 campaign, when NBC takes over a portion of the media rights alongside ESPN and Amazon Prime Video.
