The Timberwolves have added former Pelicans GM Dell Demps to the front office under new head of basketball operations Tim Connelly, per Shams Charania and Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic.
Demps was the Pelicans’ GM for nine seasons, with his notable time being when the team was holding off on trading then-star Anthony Davis to the Lakers. He most recently had served as an assistant coach for Quin Snyder with the Jazz.
Along with that, the T-Wolves recently hired Matt Lloyd from the Magic to join the front office. Per RealGM, Minnesota intends to keep basketball executives Sachin Gupta and Joe Branch.
Minnesota is hoping the reshaped front office can make the right moves around Anthony Edwards, Karl-Anthony Towns and D’Angelo Russell to build off this season’s return to the playoffs.
