Bulls
- The Bulls are unwilling to include Patrick Williams next to Nikola Vucevic in a trade for Jazz center Rudy Gobert, per Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report. The Bulls continue to listen to offers for Vucevic, who has an expiring $22 million contract.
- As we relayed earlier, the Bulls are reportedly exploring trades involving Coby White and the No. 18 pick. Joe Mullinax of Fansided suggested three trades that might makes sense here.
- Chicago has “registered interest” in 76ers guard/forward Matisse Thybulle, per Sean Deveney of Heavy.com. But sources indicated to Deveney that the Bulls are highly likely to keep their core together despite all the offseason chatter.
- Deveney added that free agent Zach LaVine is among those expected back, something we relayed earlier via Fischer.
Wizards
G League Ignite guard and projected lottery pick Dyson Daniels recently worked out for the Wizards and says he would be a great fit next to Bradley Beal.
“I don’t really have a weakness. I have a lot of strengths I can use,” Daniels said, via Chase Hughes of NBC Sports Washington. “So, it’s just showing them a little bit of everything,” he said, later adding: “I want to develop into like a Luka Doncic or Shai Gilgeous-Alexander type player who is really good at creating for themselves and creating for teammates.”
He added that he’s no slouch on defense, either.
“As a kid, I’ve always had the defensive skills; quick hands and quick feet,” Daniels said, via Hughes. “Then, toughness is part of the game. That’s just something I think Australian basketball raises. Coming from the academy, they taught that that you have to be tough to stay on the floor. For me, it being in my DNA and playing tough and playing physical, I think it’s a fun part of the game. Defense wins games. Heart and hustle is what I think it takes on the defensive end. If you bring it every single possession, you’re going to be a good defender.”
- The Wizards are bringing in six more draft prospects for a workout, per Josh Robbins of The Athletic. They are: Jules Bernard (UCLA), Theo John (Duke), Davion Mintz (Kentucky), Alex O’Connell (Creighton), Nate Roberts (Washington) and Au’Diese Toney (Arkansas). The Wizards own the Nos. 10 and 56 overall picks.
Hawks
- While the Hawks are expected to undergo a bit of a roster shakeup this summer, it appears it won’t include De’Andre Hunter. Instead, the Hawks are aiming to work out a contract extension and keep him, per Fischer.
- In case you missed it, the Hawks are promoting former NBA wing Landry Fields to GM under head of basketball operations Travis Schlenk, per multiple reports. Fields joined the Hawks as assistant GM in 2020. Before that, he served as a scout for the Spurs, as well as the GM of their G League affiliate in Austin.
- The Hawks are bringing several prospects for a group workout, per Chris Kirchner of The Athletic. The list includes Alex Barcello (BYU), Marcus Bingham Jr. (Michigan State), JD Notae (Arkansas) and Dereon Seabron (NC State). Atlanta owns the Nos. 16 and 44 overall picks.
