NBA Moves: Jazz waive two; Nets, Hawks trim rosters

The Jazz have waived forwards Taylor Funk and Chance Moore, the team announced, as another round of preseason cuts points players toward the G League.

Both were on Exhibit 10 contracts and are expected to join the Salt Lake City Stars. Those deals can provide a bonus if a player is waived and then spends at least 60 days with the NBA team’s affiliate.

More moves from Thursday:

  • Nets: Brooklyn waived swingman Ben Humrichous after he appeared in two preseason games, according to Brian Lewis of the New York Post. Humrichous went undrafted out of Illinois this year and is expected to begin his rookie season with the Long Island Nets.
  • Hawks: Atlanta waived forward Giorgi Bezhanishvili one day after signing him to an Exhibit 10 contract. College Park is his likely destination, with an Exhibit 10 bonus available if he spends at least 60 days there. Bezhanishvili averaged 11.1 points, 6.8 rebounds and 2.5 assists for the Windy City Bulls last season.
