The Bucks are bringing in veteran wing Amir Coffey on a one-year, non-guaranteed training camp deal, according to NBA insiders Shams Charania of ESPN and Eric Nehm of The Athletic.
Coffey, 28, went undrafted in 2019 and signed a two-way contract with the Clippers, eventually earning a standard deal in 2022. He spent all five of his NBA seasons in Los Angeles, appearing in 323 games (67 starts) and averaging 6.7 points and 1.9 rebounds while shooting 45.5 percent from the field and 38.4 percent from three.
Last season was his best yet, as he made 13 starts in 72 games and averaged a career-high 9.7 points per game. His role in Los Angeles shifted from year to year, with significant minutes in 2021-22 and again in 2024-25, but less action in between.
The Bucks have a full 15-man roster, meaning Coffey will be battling for a spot. With two-way deals off the table, his competition could be second-year guard Andre Jackson Jr., whose 2025-26 salary is only partially guaranteed.
