Former NBA center Shawn Bradley made a public appearance Sunday at the BIG3’s Week 10 games in Dallas, where he was seen chatting with Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal.

Bradley, 51, was the No. 2 overall pick by the Philadelphia 76ers in the 1993 NBA Draft and went on to play 12 seasons with the Sixers, New Jersey Nets and Dallas Mavericks. He has been paralyzed from the chest down since a bicycle accident in St. George, Utah, on Jan. 20, 2021.

Now in a Quantum Rehab motorized wheelchair, Bradley attended the games at American Airlines Arena with his wife Carrie. The couple posed for photos with O’Neal as fans looked on. Bradley was struck from behind by a vehicle while riding his bike in Utah at age 48. No citations were issued in the accident.

In an August 2023 interview with KSL.com, the Bradleys said they harbor no ill will toward the driver. Bradley explained that while he has regained some sensation, his mobility remains severely limited.

“I can move my hand and that’s great, I shouldn’t be able to do that, but there is no strength in it,” Bradley told KSL. He added that he has increased feeling down his chest and back.

Bradley also said in that interview that his condition could reduce his life expectancy by a decade or more. At the time, he was working toward acquiring a specially equipped car so that he could drive independently.
