LeBron James reacts to Cavs’ Peyton Watson trade

LeBron James apparently approves of the Cavaliers’ newest addition.

James showed some love to Peyton Watson on Instagram after the Cavaliers acquired the 23-year-old forward from the Nuggets as part of Wednesday’s massive five-team trade.

Responding to a post from Watson, James wrote:

“Yessir P!! 🙌🏾🙌🏾🔥”

Watson responded to James with a message of his own:

“big brother 🤞🏾”

Nothing complicated about that one.

Watson is headed to Cleveland on a new four-year, $88 million contract after a breakout season with Denver. The Cavs sent Max Strus to the Clippers as part of the deal, while Denver received Cleveland’s unprotected 2031 first-round pick and a 2032 Kings second-rounder.

Cleveland had been searching for a bigger, athletic two-way forward throughout the offseason, with Watson emerging as its eventual choice.

James, of course, knows a little something about what it takes to win in Cleveland. The Akron native spent 11 seasons with the Cavs over two separate stints and led the franchise to its lone NBA championship in 2016.

So does his Instagram comment mean anything beyond one player congratulating another? Probably not.

But this is August, people. We report the news we have.
