The Lakers got a bit of a scare with Luka Doncic, but it doesn’t appear to be serious.

The team announced that Doncic has been diagnosed with a left finger sprain and a lower left leg contusion and will be re-evaluated in about a week, per Dan Woike of The Athletic.

While he’s expected to miss several games, Woike added that there are no long-term concerns about either injury.

Doncic suffered the finger injury early in Friday’s win over the Timberwolves and played through it with the digit taped.

The left leg issue reportedly cropped up later, though it’s not connected to the minor injury he had on the opposite leg during the season opener at Golden State.

The timing isn’t ideal — Los Angeles plays four games this week (at Sacramento, vs. Portland, at Minnesota, and at Memphis) before returning home to face Miami next Sunday — but the early word is that rest and rehab should do the trick.

With Doncic and LeBron James (sciatica) both out, Austin Reaves, Gabe Vincent, Marcus Smart and rookie Dalton Knecht are expected to see more ball-handling duties.

Doncic had been on a tear to start the year, averaging 46 points, 11.5 rebounds, and 8.5 assists through two games, including MVP chants at Crypto.com Arena on Friday night.

The 26-year-old appeared in just 50 games last season but entered this one in excellent shape following a strong summer with Slovenia at EuroBasket.

Meanwhile, Jaxson Hayes (left knee soreness) will also miss his second straight game, Dave McMenamin of ESPN reported.
