The Celtics have officially signed forward Danilo Gallinari, the team announced in a press release. He received a two-year, $13.3 million deal, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN. 
“We are thrilled to welcome Danilo to Boston,” Celtics president of basketball operations, Brad Stevens said. “With his elite shooting abilities, he has long been established as of the league’s best scorers with size.”
Gallinari was acquired by the Spurs in the Dejounte Murray trade with the Hawks, then waived by San Antonio late last week. He said signing with the Celtics a “no-brainer.”
The Celtics also recently acquired guard Malcolm Brogdon from the Pacers.
“Gallinari will provide Boston with a veteran shooter who can play several positions. He has connected at 38.1% from three-point range during his career and averaged 11.7 points and 4.7 rebounds with the Hawks last season,” noted Arthur Hill of Hoops Rumors.
The Celtics advanced all the way to the Finals under first-year coach Ime Udoka before falling to the Warriors in six games. Basically, the additions of Brogdon and Gallinari could prove to be vastly underrated.

Per the Celtics’ press release:
Gallinari, a 6’11” forward, appeared in 66 games for the Atlanta Hawks last season averaging 11.7 ponts, 4.7 rebounds, and 1.5 assists while shooting 38.1 percent from the field. Born in Sant’Angelo Lodigiano, Italy, he was tied for fourth in the NBA last season in free throw percentage at 90.4 percent. Gallinari was originally drafted by the New York Knicks with the sixth overall pick in the 2008 NBA Draft, and has appeared in 728 games averaging 15.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 1.9 assists while shooting 38.2 percent from the field.
Gallinari will wear #8 for the Celtics.
